SYMPHONY CONCERT - WORLD PREMIERE - An American Requiem
04/08/2010 at 7:30pm: The Hattiesburg Choral Union, faculty and student soloists join the Symphony in the world premiere of Edwin Penhorwood's An American Requiem. Commissioned by the Southern Miss School of Music as a memorial for those affected by Hurricane Katrina, this exciting new piece sets traditional Latin texts, biblical passages and original poetry to music using a unique blend of folk songs, humn tunes and beautifully original melodies.
